Six Questions with April Fitzloff, PA-C

February 21, 2017

First job? Corn detasseling as a young teenager. In corn detasseling, you walk through fields of corn, pulling off the top part of the corn plant that contains the pollen that allows the corn plant to reproduce. My first and worst job ever!

Free time? Spending time with my family; reading (if my twins boys allow it), hiking and skiing.

Best part of your work? Establishing relationships with my patients, and knowing that my work does something to really help them.

Best advice you ever got? Stay true to yourself.

Why healthcare? A desire to make a difference in someone’s life – coupled with the fact that it’s challenging, stimulating and always changing.

If not healthcare, what would you be doing? I wanted to be in medicine since I was a young child. I really cannot see myself doing anything else.
