NPR’s “Health Shots” explains the benefits of 3D mammography, including new research that shows better detection of cancer with 3D images for women as young as 40 and women 65-plus (two separate studies). “If a breast cancer screening facility offers 3D, women should choose that,” NPR concludes, quoting radiologist Liane Philpotts, MD with Yale Cancer Center: “‘It's really a no-brainer. We just get so much more information with 3D, it seems an obvious choice.’”
